Happy Customers from a day of Tarpon Springs fishing

Images like this are what makes Captain Mitch's day. To see all his fishing customers hanging and sorting fish to take home to the dinner table makes him happy.

Captain's Bio

A friend of mine and I started fishing on a party boat when we were 14 years old. Before I knew it I was working on the party boat on weekends and after school. I worked on the boat part time until I graduated high school at which time I studied and passed my test for a USCG Captain's license.

That allowed me to run the party boat on a full time basis for about five years at which time I bought my own commercial grouper boat. So at that time I was commercial fishing on my own and back to running the party boat on a part time basis again. I did this for about 4 years until I sold the commercial grouper boat and went back to full time party boat Captain for about 3 more years.

After that a fine opportunity arose to go back to commercial fishing when I was able to purchase a stone crab boat with about 4000 crab traps. Eventhough I had all this work to do with the carbbing it was not year around so in my off season I was still running the party boat. I have been involved in commercial fishing of many types from catching golden tilefish to sponge diving and nothing quite compares to being a Captain of a large head boat. Plus it seemed like I always would come back to the party boat in my younger days so it became obvious to me that what I loved most was to skipper a nice party boat and make people happy by putting them on the fish.

Everybody's Florida Fishing Captain

Tarpon Springs Fishing for Kids

A large school of grouper or snapper is one thing that puts Captain Mitch in a really good mood but there is also something else that makes Captain Mitch very happy while out on the water. Seeing his customers hooked up to a nice fish makes Captain Mitch's day, especially when he sees the young kids taking so much delight in fishing. After all everytime a kid becomes hooked on fishing the odds go up that the same kid won't be tempted by the things of the world that are bad for them.

That's right, Captain Mitch gets just as much satisfaction these days out of watching his customers catch fish, especially the beginners or the kids. There is nothing like seeing a little one have a giant smile on his or her face as they land a fish that is sometimes bigger than what the "Grown-Ups" have caught.

He is well known and respected by his fellow Tampa Bay area fishing Captains and Florida charter boat Captains from across the entire state. He has built his charter service around a philosophy of honesty and integrity. For years Captain Mitch's charter boat service has thrived solely on reputation and repeat business. His customers keep coming back each year and that says everything about the great time they have fishing with Captain Mitch Coratella.
